We’ve answered the most common questions below. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, use the contact form above — we’re happy to help.

What types of organisations can partner with EAI?

EAI partners with a wide range of organisations across both continents — including government ministries and agencies, international institutions (EU bodies, AU, UN agencies), development finance institutions, universities and research centres, civil society organisations, and private sector companies with an interest in Europe-Africa cooperation. If your organisation has a genuine stake in the Europe-Africa relationship, we want to hear from you.

EAI’s network is open to policymakers, researchers, investors, development professionals, entrepreneurs, and civil society leaders with a professional interest in Europe-Africa cooperation. You can apply to join through the “Get Involved” section of our website or by selecting “Network Membership” in the contact form above. Applications are reviewed by our team and accepted on a rolling basis.

Yes — EAI periodically offers internship and fellowship positions for students and early-career professionals interested in Europe-Africa policy, research, communications, and programme management. Available positions are posted on our website and shared through our newsletter. Send a speculative application to info@europe-africainitiative.com with your CV and a brief cover note explaining your interest.

EAI team members and affiliated experts are available as speakers, panellists, and moderators for conferences, webinars, policy forums, and academic events related to Europe-Africa affairs. To request a speaker, please email us with the event name, date, format, topic, and any specific expertise you require. We ask for a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice for in-person events.

We welcome research collaboration proposals from universities, think tanks, policy institutes, and independent researchers. Please email us with a brief concept note (1–2 pages) outlining your proposed research question, methodology, timeline, and how it contributes to the Europe-Africa cooperation agenda. Our research team reviews all proposals and responds within 10 working days.

EAI is supported through institutional partnerships, programme co-funding, and strategic grants. We do not distribute grants directly to third parties — but we regularly co-design and co-fund projects with partner organisations. If you are interested in co-funding a specific EAI programme or project, please contact us with a summary of your funding interest and priorities.
